What you will find
Larchmont Village is located in the town of Mamaroneck in the south-east of Westchester with almost 6,100 inhabitants. The 1.1-square-mile area is bounded by Metro-North Railroad in the north, Long Island Sound in the south, and New Rochelle in the southwest. The Boston Post Road, the main thoroughfare, divides the Larchmont Manor area south of the business district to the north. (The larger area with postal code 10538 is provided by the post office in Larchmont; it is located in Mamaroneck but not in Larchmont.)
“Larchmont houses tend to be a mixture of Tudors, Victorians and colonials, as well as split-levels and some apartments,” said Ms. Raved of Douglas Elliman. The Larchmont Manor neighborhood, close to the water, is home to many large 19th-century holiday homes, including the Manor House, the oldest house in the village.
The village center, north of Boston Post Road, is full of independent boutiques, restaurants, gourmet outlets, gift shops and art galleries. Starbucks has also won a seat. While several shop windows are empty, new businesses such as the Idea Kitchen, a coworking area, and a weekend farmers’ market are always busy during the pandemic.
Many restaurants offer a variety of cuisine, from classic Italian at Lusardi’s, a village devotee, to Indian coriander food and pastries at Cafe Le Parisienne, a French bakery. New additions include Grange Cafe on Larchmont Avenue and Billy & Pete’s Social, a family-friendly restaurant near the train station.
